Young Women Protection of Oaxaca A.C.
Protección a la Joven de Oaxaca A.C. is a non-profit organization founded in 1959 to support indigenous and rural young women who move to Oaxaca City in order to attend school (secondary school, high school, and university).
One of the essential services we provide is housing in the Casa de la Protección a la Joven. Here, we are able to offer workshops for the young women to help them build a personal foundation that will allow them to develop skills for their livelihood and to develop life skills, prepare for there carrier, grow and mature as individuals and value and understand their cultural identity.
You can help our organization grow and continue to provide services of high quality services in these ways:
- Buy items in our grocery store
- Buy the handmade, artisan paper made by the women at the Proteccion
- Donate school supplies and household items
- Make a monetary donation
- Support financially the studies of one of our young women
- Mentor and tutor one of our youths
- Offer professional services (medical, etc)
- Take a Spanish Class, Yoga Class, English Class at the Protección a la Joven
